RED MED BOX:
Properly disposing unused and unwanted medications helps to protect the environment. It also helps to protect our community against prescription abuse, addiction, and accidental or intentional overdose.
Red Med Box is an easy and secure way to dispose of your unused or expired medication. The Red Med Boxes are located at area law enforcement buildings, which means you can now drop off prescriptions that are considered controlled substances. View our Red Box Page for a detailed list.

Flu Shots
Each year the influenza virus changes and different strains become dominant. Due to the high mutability of the virus a particular vaccine formulation usually only works for about a year.
RSV
The RSVvaccine protects against the virus in more than 95% of cases and provides protection from the virus for ten years.
Pneumonia
The pneumonia vaccine is important for preventing pneumonia in both children and adults. Vaccinating children, especially in the first year, has significantly reduced cases of pneumonia.
Covid 19
Each year new Covid-19 variants emerge and may affect vaccine protection. Due to the virus's ability to mutate rapidly, updated vaccines are recommended to maintain strong immunity for about a year.
Hepatitis
The Hepatitis vaccine protects against the virus in more than 95% of cases and provides protection from the virus for ten years. Hepatitis B vaccine prevents hepatitis B disease and its serious consequences like hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).
Shingrix
Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus. While Shingrix provides strong protection, immunity may gradually decline over time, so boosters could eventually be needed.
Pneumonia
The pneumonia vaccine is important for preventing pneumonia in both children and adults. Vaccinating children, especially in the first year, has significantly reduced cases of pneumonia. This also helps reduce infections in adults, as they often contract it from children. It's recommended for adults over 65 and those with certain health conditions, with a repeat vaccination every 5 to 10 years.
Measles
The measles virus remains mostly stable, unlike other viruses. Vaccination provides long-lasting immunity for most people, although rare outbreaks make ensuring full vaccination important.
